FACILITY EXPANSION UPDATES
FALL 2026
Demolition of the parking lot will begin on October 1, 2026, the first step in preparing for construction on the new Simi Valley Family Y facility. President & CEO Ronnie Stone expressed gratitude to the City of Simi Valley for its review of the Y’s construction plan application. The Y is in the final review process presently. Permits will be issued once all approvals have been secured after which construction will commence. “It’s all about working together to ensure plans meet building and safety requirements so the facility can serve the community as intended.” Construction is anticipated to take about one year, projecting grand reopening of the modernized and expanded facility in the Fall of 2027.
The Capital Campaign helping to fund the Capital Expansion Project for the Simi Valley Family YMCA is entering its closeout phase. The Southeast Ventura County YMCA is pleased to announce the following highlights:
- The Southeast Ventura County YMCA has received contributions and pledges totaling $1.95 million toward the Simi Valley Family Y’s Capital Campaign’s $2.5 million goal. Support from local individuals and families, businesses and foundations is needed to reach its goal.
- The YMCA would like to thank and extend our sincere appreciation to the campaign’s 363 donors that have contributed toward the project thus far.
- The YMCA would like to thank the nearly 30 volunteers that participated in the Community Campaign earlier this year.
- Leadership are also continuing to work on the $2 million of remaining funds needed to complete the $7.5 project goal targeted from government and alternative funding sources. An application to the State of California budget is currently pending decision.

All of us at the Simi Valley Family YMCA are grateful for the community's support as we expand our services and activities as part of our strategic commitment to multigenerational impact. Participation has doubled since 2001 and with our expanded footprint, we expect to surpass 3,000 families involved annually. Together, we can do so much more—engaging, growing and thriving!
